For many of us, the word ‘meditation’ has somewhat effeminate overtones, bringing to mind the images of water fountains, crystals and other paraphernalia that belong to the trend, borrowed from the East. Those are perfectly fine to use for those who likes them, but you might be surprised to know that in many ancient traditions across the world meditation has been an indispensable part of the warrior training. It was designed to enhance your focus, grow your courage and resilience, as well as mental and physical strength.

The techniques that used to help warriors to secure victory in the physical battle centuries ago, are even more in demand in this day and age. Although we may not have to carry shields and swords anymore, we still have challenges to face every day. Stresses at work, unhealthy environments, deadlines, obligations, tensions in family and relationships (to name just a few) have become our usual companions. To deal with them successfully, you need to make your mind your weapon of choice.

The warriors of today are not just those to handle firearms and participate in military operations. The warrior in spirit is any man or woman who are willing to accept responsibility for their lives, who are focused on their goals, who want to discover their higher purpose and take action. It is this mindset that can turn around even the biggest disadvantage and make you success where everyone else gives up.

However, mental strength doesn’t just suddenly appear, it is something you need (and can!) develop yourself.

mental focus through meditationDid you know that meditation can increase your willpower and energy levels, not to mention reducing blood pressure, stress and anxiety? If you can stay focused for longer and get tired less, is it natural that your achievements will be higher. Many CEOs of world famous companies openly admit that meditation is what helped them on their way to greatness.

Learning to meditate doesn’t have to be a daunting and time-consuming task. All you need is a clear and structured approach to the task, which will take you through the steps in the most efficient way. You can learn it from my latest Western Meditation book (if you haven’t done it already, you can download the book for free using the form on the right.)

But no matter what system you use, there is one significant factor that really decides whether you will be successful – and it is your own commitment. Nobody can make the decision to change, except yourself. As the old saying goes, “If you‘re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you‘re determined to learn, no one can stop you.”

Meditation is as necessary for a strong mind, as physical exercise is necessary for a strong body. Make the decision to upgrade your mindset today, and you will never look back.
